Areas of Specialty
Trauma & PTSD:
Traumatic experiences can continue to affect the way we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world long after the event itself. I have specialized training and extensive experience treating trauma and PTSD. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) are my preferred models of trauma treatment. While EMDR is a well-known and commonly sought-after treatment, CPT and PE are also highly effective, evidence-based alternatives worth considering.
Anxiety, Panic, & Phobias:
Anxiety can make it difficult to relax, connect with others, sleep, or feel fully present in your life. Therapy can help you understand patterns of worry and avoidance while developing effective strategies for facing what feels difficult. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a well-researched, evidence-based approach that helps identify and change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, with research demonstrating significant reductions in anxiety symptoms and improvements in overall well-being and quality of life.
Teens & Young Adults:
Adolescence and young adulthood bring significant changes in identity, relationships, independence, and expectations. I work with teens and young adults to help them develop coping skills, navigate challenges, and build a stronger understanding of themselves.
Life Transitions:
Even positive changes can be difficult. Career changes, divorce, marriage, parenting, death/loss, and other major transitions can leave us feeling uncertain or disconnected. Therapy can provide support and perspective as you navigate what comes next.
Veterans, First Responders & Caregivers:
I have particular experience working with veterans, first responders, and caregivers. My clinical training and experience with the VA have given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges that can come with trauma, service, caregiving, and the responsibility of taking care of others.
Other Areas of Focus:
I also work with depression, stress, sleep difficulties, anger, relationship concerns, and other challenges that may interfere with living the life you want.
My Approach
My work is grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own life — my role is to bring clinical expertise, genuine presence, and honest collaboration to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.
I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for both adolescents and adults, and I draw from an integrative foundation that also incorporates mindfulness-based strategies and self-compassion practices.
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all; I tailor each course of care to the individual sitting across from me, using evidence-based methods that are flexible enough to meet you where you are.
Therapy with me is active and collaborative, not something done to you. While empirical evidence guides my clinical decision-making, I firmly believe that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount to achieving lasting change. That's why I aim to create a space of real emotional safety — one where I listen closely, respond honestly, and build the kind of genuine connectedness that makes difficult work possible.
Diversity Affirming Care
I provide a safe, respectful, and affirming space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, cultures, ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds. My approach is inclusive, compassionate, and free from judgment, ensuring you feel seen, heard, and valued. Therapy is tailored to your unique experiences and identity, supporting you in a way that honors who you are.
