About Me:
I completed my doctoral training through a consortium program affiliated with William & Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University, and Old Dominion University. I went on to complete my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Durham VA Medical Center, where I specialized in treating combat veterans and survivors of sexual assault. During this time, I trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure under some of the nation's leading experts in trauma treatment.
After completing my training, I was hired full-time at the Durham VA before relocating to the Martinez VA. Although I left my full-time job with the VA when I had my second child, I continue to work as a contract provider with the VA, conducting disability evaluations for veterans and providing care to the caregivers of veterans. For the past decade, I have also worked in private practice treating teens and adults from all over the Bay Area.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated mother and step-mother to four amazing teens. I spend a lot of time on the sidelines — cheering on AAU basketball, youth softball, and Little League games. We travel anytime there is a break in kids activities and school commitments and I like to think I have become a bit of an expert on traveling with a blended family. On the rare occasion where my husband and I find ourselves with a free weekend, you will find us hiking the bay area trails with our dog, Remi, or enjoying a sunset on the beach.
